Last day on Cozumel.

We had an action packed day today... After being sick all day
yesterday, Nathan and I made it out the door for our last dives. With
our tummies a bit on edge, we learned from the dive master that we
were going to "Columbia", one of the most challenging dive sites.
Yikes! But we made it, and it was great. We were down 100 feet!!

After that we hustled to meet the girls for a "Xrail" tour through the
jungle. The highlight was swimming in a jungle cavern filled water,
and with bats! We even swam through a tunnel into a dark cavern that
was the bat nesting site. Then we went to another place and poor
Julia vomited in an historic Mayan cave.... Poor thing, she has the
same thing we've all gotten!

Today Chad and the kids went to Paradise Beach.  I had a bit of Montazuma's revenge so I didn't get to go--long night!

They had fun with paddle boards, trampolines and the big iceburg.  Another beautiful day in Cozumel!!

Wednesday recap

Well, another fun filled day... We started out by going out for a
traditional Mexican breakfast in a little place that Bev spotted. 3.99
for the special, and a great viewnof the ocean, and not another
customer in the restuarant!

In the afternoon Nathan and I went on two more dives, this time
without a master diver of our own. As it turned out, only 3 others on
the boat, all very experienced so we got all the attention we needed.
We saw a sea turtle, 4 nurse sharks, a mora eel (huge!) lobster, rays,
grouper and who knows what else! We're definitely getting more
comfortable, and the more comfortable you get the more fun it is.
Both dives were at 60 feet.

We snorkeled off the beach with the girls, watched sunset at the
condo, swam in the pool and went into town for the evening. We ate at
pancho's backyard which is on everyones recommendation list. Awsome
authentic Mexican dishes are their specialty. Everyone loved it!

Today we are going to go to paradise beach which is a park like place
with lots of water toys, trampolines, etc. We're going to do one more
day of diving, and probably go on a fishing trip, with everyone.

Day three end...

We rented snorkel equipment for the girls today, for the rest of the
week, so we did a little snorkeling off the beach. Beautiful calm
night and awsome sunset.

Now we're cooking spagettii in our tiny kitchen. Nathan and I are
trying to set up another dive for tomorrow - it's addicting!

Back from scuba.

We had a great time divi h today! Whew! We went 60 feet on our
first dive and 40 feet on the second. The highlight was going through
an underwater cave! Lots of fish, and no problems. Nathan and I
both thought it was easier and more fun than we thought it would be.

Came home and took the girls to lunch at a cool place on the beach
called maya corona.

Mexico day two

Since scuba was cancelled, we decided to drive around the island
today. We took on some cool sites, did some bargain shopping (Nathan
got a shark tooth necklace, Julia got a torquise necklace, Bev got a
mask, and I got Dos Equis), had lunch at "coconuts", and toured a
Mayan ruin. Whew, we got back to our place and relaxed a bit, swam
and had cheese and crackers for dinner - too many tacoes already!

We're crossing our fingers the weather gets better tomorrow for scuba!

End of day 1 in cozumel

We had a great first day in Cozumel, the weather was great and we
spent the day getting to know the nearby area. We did a lot of
snorkeling, Nathan and I got very burned - dumb. The girls got a lot
of reading in and we took walks down the beach. Just down the beach
is Paradise Beach which has all kinds of cool water toys. We're
going to go there one day for sure. We ended the day with a trip into
town, and dinner in the main drag, watching all the hu-bub. We
watched a street artist paint some cool pictures, and Nathan bought
one with some deer in it.

Today is scuba day! Can't wait to get our first major dive under our
belt. Very nervous about going too deep with Nathan, but I paid extra
to have a dive master "hold our hands" the whole day today. I wasn't
comfortable when I booked the dive that they would keep us shallow
like I wanted.

Weather is a bit iffy. Cloudy and windy, hopefully it will improve!
